Saputo Inc. has announced plans to revamp one cheese plant in Wisconsin and close another.
The Montreal-based company will spend $35 million (U.S.) to convert its plant in Reedsburg, about 45 miles northwest of Madison, from mozzarella to goat cheese production. The Reedsburg plant’s mozzarella production will be redistributed among other Saputo facilities.
