Vern’s Cheese To Open New Retail Storefront In Green Bay, Wisconsin
Vern’s Cheese will open a new store at 1241 Lombardi Access Road, Suite D, next to Margarita’s restaurant, according to a news release.
The store will have a soft opening in early April, followed by a grand opening, which will coincide with the NFL draft, the release said. The store is just west of the Green Bay Packers’ Titletown district, near one of the two entrances to the NFL Draft Experience.
A Culinary Experience Featuring Wisconsin Favorites
Ben Novak, owner of Vern’s Cheese, said in the release that company aims to create a space where customers can explore Wisconsin’s cheeses and discover fine wines, spirits and premium meats.
“As a business founded on tradition, craftsmanship and innovation, we are beyond excited to bring this exceptional cheese and culinary experience to Green Bay,” Novak said.
Local Products And Sampling Take Center Stage
Alongside its Wisconsin cheeses and selections from other cheesemakers in the state, Vern’s Cheese will showcase wines, bread, meats and craft beer from other local producers.
Austin Tolman, general manager of the store, said in an interview with the Green Bay Press-Gazette that there will be a space for customers to sample products.
“Everything in here is essentially sampleable,” Tolman said. “And you can (buy) whatever amount you want.”
Opening Timeline And Final Preparations
Tolman said construction is ongoing and there is no specific opening date. He still needs to install internet service, pass health inspections, and stock the store with products. Operating hours have not been determined.
“We are shooting for April 12, but that’s tentative,” he said.
