Dicer Shredder (DS1)
HART Design & Manufacturing’s Dicer Shredder (DS1) is a direct shred unit designed for casting line applications. The DS1 continuously receives cheese sheets from a casting machine and reduces them into uniform shreds or cubes using precision slitting and cutting technology.
Direct Shred for Casting Lines
The DS1 feeds continuously from a casting machine and performs precise slitting and cutting to produce uniform shreds or cubes. With servo-controlled slitting and cutting heads, the DS1 delivers repeatable cut quality based on the installed cutting format and programmed recipes.

Operation
Cheese sheets are automatically fed from the casting machine into the DS1 infeed conveyors. Sensors detect incoming product and adjust conveyor speed to maintain proper sheet tension. Slitter wheels cut the sheets to the configured widths, and cutting heads then cut the product to programmed lengths. Finished shreds or cubes are discharged via the outfeed conveyor to downstream equipment.
Operators select recipes and adjust settings through the touchscreen HMI, with physical pushbuttons provided for start, stop, reset, and emergency stop functions.
Safety and Sanitation
The DS1 is equipped with standard safety features including emergency stop buttons and fixed physical guarding around hazardous areas. Guards are protected by safety switches that stop machine movement if opened during operation.
The machine is constructed of stainless steel and food-grade materials and is designed for washdown cleaning. Electrical enclosures and the touchscreen HMI are protected to support sanitary operation when proper washdown procedures are followed.
